This pattern is tied with a red anodized bead head, a black body with a rib of red on a natural bend hook. This fly represent the pupa state of the chironomid (midge) which is available to fish year round. The red and black combination is a must have in your fly box and this pattern uses the bead head to add an extra highlight to the hemoglobin found in many emerging chironomid pupa. Fish them under an indicator on a floating line or deep on a full sink line.
