This Black Iron pattern highlights trapped gasses in the pupa as it rises to the surface giving it a shiny appearance. The grey and holographic black combination gives the fly its name. The fly represents the pupa state of the chironomid (midge) which is available throughout the open water season. Try this pattern on a competition scud hook or the new curved nymph hook. Fish them under an indicator on a floating line or deep on a full sink line.
